#APC Faction Seeks to Register New Party, Vows to Unseat Tinubu in 2027

A faction within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), known as Team New Nigeria (TNN), has announced its intention to register as a political party with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The group aims to challenge the APC’s dominance and unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

Breaking Away from APC

Speaking in Kano, TNN’s National Leader, Modibbo Farakwai, declared the group’s split from the APC, citing dissatisfaction with the administration’s handling of security, economic challenges, and governance. Farakwai lamented that despite being founding members and critical supporters of the APC, TNN members had been sidelined in the party’s decision-making processes.

Rallying for Change

Farakwai announced plans to mobilize millions of Nigerians across the six geopolitical zones to secure victory in 2027. He expressed concern over the state of the nation, highlighting widespread poverty, rising unemployment, and a decline in social services and infrastructure.

“There is a complete decline in the nation’s standard of living and a significant rise in hardship,” Farakwai stated. “Today, nothing works as it should, and Nigerians deserve better.”

A Vision Beyond APC

TNN criticized the APC-led Federal Government, accusing it of confusion, mediocrity, and lack of vision. The movement pledged to offer practical solutions to Nigeria’s challenges, urging citizens to consider alternatives to the current administration in the next election.

“The APC government has subjected Nigerians to untold hardship. It’s time to chart a new course for the country,” Farakwai added.

This announcement underscores growing discontent within the ruling party and sets the stage for a competitive political landscape leading up to the 2027 elections.
