Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has dismissed the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Abdullahi Bichi, his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Shehu Sagagi, and five commissioners in a significant administrative shakeup.
The announcement was made on Thursday through a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa. According to the statement, the decision is part of a strategic political realignment aimed at improving the administration’s performance and delivering greater dividends of democracy to the people of Kano State.
Key Changes
- Dismissed Officials:
- Chief of Staff, Alhaji Shehu Wada Sagagi (office now scrapped).
- Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi (relieved on health grounds).
- Five commissioners, including:
- Ibrahim Jibril Fagge (Finance).
- Ladidi Ibrahim Garko (Culture and Tourism).
- Baba Halilu Dantiye (Information and Internal Affairs).
- Shehu Aliyu Yammedi (Special Duties).

Governor Yusuf emphasized that the changes were necessary to enhance the administration’s efficiency and to realign the cabinet for better service delivery to Kano residents.
