‘I DON’T MIND CHANGING PARTIES 20 TIMES’: PETER OBI THREATENS TO DUMP ADC

Former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, has indicated that he may leave the African Democratic Congress (ADC) if the party’s internal processes fail to remain fair and transparent.

Speaking during an interview on Arise TV, Obi explained that his political decisions have consistently been guided by principle rather than convenience. He recalled his departure from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), noting that he stepped away to avoid conflicts that could negatively impact governance in Anambra State.

He also reflected on his time in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stating that internal practices within the party became transactional and inconsistent with his values. According to him, he could not support a system where individuals were required to influence outcomes through inducement.

Obi said his move to the Labour Party followed similar concerns, adding that he is currently observing comparable patterns within the ADC. He stressed that if such issues persist, he would not hesitate to speak out or even switch parties again, regardless of how often it may happen.

He further emphasized his stance on integrity, insisting that he has never been involved in election rigging or attempts to manipulate judicial outcomes for personal gain.

Meanwhile, presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, criticised Obi over his comments, describing him as inconsistent and opportunistic in his political journey. Onanuga pointed to Obi’s history of moving across multiple parties, suggesting that his latest remarks signal a possible repeat.
