INEC Begins Display of 2027 Candidates’ Credentials in Lagos
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos State has announced that it will begin displaying the personal details and credentials of candidates contesting in the 2027 Presidential, Senatorial and House of Representatives elections.
The exercise, which starts on Saturday, involves the display of Form EC9 (Affidavit in Support of Personal Particulars) submitted by candidates sponsored by registered political parties.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Head of the Voter Education and Publicity (VEP) Department) of INEC Lagos, Mrs Esther Emeh, said the move was in line with Section 29 of the Electoral Act, 2022.

According to the commission, the public display is aimed at allowing political parties, candidates, stakeholders and members of the public to review the information submitted by candidates, including their personal details, qualifications and sworn declarations.
INEC said the documents would be available for inspection at the Lagos State Headquarters in Sabo-Yaba, as well as at relevant Local Government Area offices within the affected constituencies.
The commission urged residents to take advantage of the opportunity to examine the documents and report any suspected cases of false information, forgery or other irregularities through the appropriate legal channels.
INEC stated that anyone who believes a candidate provided inaccurate information or submitted fake documents has the right to seek legal action as provided by the Electoral Act.
Reaffirming its commitment to credible elections, the commission said it would continue to promote transparency, accountability and fairness throughout the electoral process.
