He issued the directive during an operational visit to the Headquarters of the Theatre Command, Joint Task Force North-West, in Gusau, Zamfara State, where he assessed ongoing military operations, reviewed challenges, and boosted troop morale.

Oluyede praised the soldiers for their courage, discipline, and sacrifices in the fight against insecurity, urging them to remain focused and relentless in eliminating criminal elements threatening peace in the country.

He emphasized that the safety of Nigerians depends on the effectiveness of the military, stressing the need for troops to maintain pressure on armed groups until they are completely neutralised.

The Defence Chief also assured personnel of continued support from the military leadership, particularly in the areas of welfare, training, logistics, and improved operational equipment to enhance their performance in the field.

He further highlighted the importance of air support in ongoing operations and noted that efforts were being made to strengthen coordination and expand operational capabilities across different theatres.

During the visit, he also met with the Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, where he appreciated the state government’s support for military operations and called for stronger collaboration, especially in intelligence sharing.

The governor, in response, commended the armed forces for their continued sacrifices in restoring peace across Zamfara and the wider North-West region.

The visit included troop briefings, field assessments, and engagements aimed at improving operational effectiveness in the ongoing counter-banditry campaign.
