I’VE NEVER REACHED ANY AGREEMENT WITH TINUBU, MY SUPPORT IS BECAUSE HE’S YORUBA – ADELEKE

Adeleke: I Never Reached Any Agreement With Tinubu, My Support Is Based on Yoruba Roots

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has clarified that he has not reached any political agreement with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying his support for the President is largely influenced by their shared Yoruba heritage and South-Western background.

Adeleke made the clarification while speaking on his relationship with the Tinubu administration and his position on the Federal Government’s projects across the South-West.

The governor said his support should not be interpreted as evidence of a political deal between him and the President.

“I never reached an agreement with President Tinubu. My support is just based on the fact that he is a Yoruba man and he is from the South-West.”

Adeleke explained that he believes supporting the President on issues that could benefit the region is important, particularly when it comes to federal infrastructure projects.

Adeleke urges Tinubu not to forget South-West

The Osun governor also appealed to Tinubu to ensure that the South-West receives adequate attention in the Federal Government’s ongoing road construction and rehabilitation projects.

According to Adeleke, while he acknowledges the federal government’s efforts to improve roads across the country, he wants the President to ensure that the South-West is not left behind.

He said:

“And I believe that all the federal roads that he has started, I want to encourage him not to forget South-West too.”

Adeleke’s comments come amid ongoing political discussions surrounding his relationship with the Tinubu administration and the wider political realignment ahead of future elections.

The governor has repeatedly emphasised the need for development projects that directly benefit residents of Osun and other South-Western states.

His latest remarks, however, suggest that his support for Tinubu on certain issues should be viewed primarily through the lens of regional interest rather than as the result of a formal political agreement.

The governor’s position also highlights the importance of federal infrastructure spending in the South-West, particularly the rehabilitation and construction of major roads linking communities and commercial centres across the region.
