JAMB DISMISSES CROSS RIVER CANDIDATE’S CLAIM OF 394 IN 2026 UTME AS ‘FABRICATED AND MISLEADING’

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has warned Nigerians to ignore a fake 2026 UTME result that is currently circulating on social media, saying the document is completely fabricated.

The viral result claimed that a candidate from Cross River State, identified as Okon Winnifred Sampson, scored an unusually high 394 out of 400, with near-perfect marks across all subjects. The post quickly gained attention online and was widely shared before being flagged as false.

In a statement, JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin described the result slip as misleading and not produced by the Board. He stressed that UTME results are strictly “view-only” and cannot be printed or shared in the format being circulated.

According to him, the document uses a fake template that does not match JAMB’s official design, making it easy to identify as fake. He added that even the registration number on the slip is incorrect and does not follow the Board’s system-generated format.

Benjamin noted that several other inconsistencies in the document clearly show it is not authentic and urged Nigerians to be more careful before sharing unverified information online.

He also expressed surprise that such a fabrication was being circulated by people who should know better, warning that misinformation of this kind can mislead the public.

The Board reiterated that all UTME results can only be accessed through its official platforms and advised candidates and the public to rely strictly on verified channels.

JAMB concluded by urging Nigerians to disregard the fake result entirely, stressing that all legitimate results remain view-only at the moment.
