#Kemi Badenoch’s Misplaced Priorities and Defamation of Nigeria by Dr. Fraser. MFR

Kemi Badenoch’s continued disparagement of Nigeria reveals a troubling misplacement of priorities, a possible underlying psychological bias and covert Nigerian political opposition affiliation.
As the leader of the opposition in the UK, her primary focus should be on addressing the political challenges facing the Conservative Party, which is steadily losing relevance and popularity. Instead, she seems intent on using Nigeria as a scapegoat, raising questions about her true agenda.

Kemi Badenoch previously sought the support and votes of Nigerians in the UK, despite her claims of negative experiences in Nigeria. This contradictory behavior reflects a double standard in her political strategy. Most recently, she accused the Nigerian Police of robbing Nigerians—a serious allegation without substantiating evidence. This baseless assertion is defamatory, unjustified, and potentially criminal. The National Security Adviser, NIA, and DSS should investigate her remarks, as they might indicate the beginning of an unpatriotic agenda aimed at destabilizing Nigeria.
The Nigerian Government should also petition the British High Commission, as this behavior undermines diplomatic relations between both countries.

Contrary to Kemi Adegoke now Badenoch’s claims, she reportedly grew up in a decent neighborhood in Surulere, Lagos, and attended reputable schools—facts that can be verified. Her accounts of Nigeria seem far removed from reality and merit thorough investigation to set the record straight.

No nation is without challenges. The UK, particularly London, grapples with serious issues, including daily robberies, muggings, stabbings, and looting.
The Metropolitan Police has also established a department to address crimes committed by officers to serve as a deterrent to officers’ excesses. Mistakes by law enforcement occur globally, and Nigeria is no exception. However, incidents involving the Nigerian Police are relatively rare, and not robbery, reflecting a commendable record for a Police force of its size due to the checks & balances, monitoring & supervision and disciplinary actions in place to serve as deterrent to officers. Moreover, Nigeria has an existing collaboration with Great Britain for the Nigerian Police in various departments to ensure transparency, training & equipment.

Furthermore, Kemi Badenoch’s apparent alignment with the Obidient movement in the UK—a faction opposed to Nigeria’s current government—raises additional concerns. This affiliation may explain her persistent attempts to denigrate Nigeria. The Nigerian Government must act swiftly to counter her narrative, ensuring she does not use her platform within a prominent UK political party to meddle in Nigeria’s domestic affairs.

The Conservative Party itself should discourage the misuse of its platform for such actions, as this could backfire on Britain. Kemi Badenoch should redirect her attention to addressing pressing issues in the UK, including growing insecurity, and focus on reviving the fortunes of her party. Nigeria, as a sovereign nation, is making commendable strides under the leadership of President Tinubu and does not require unsolicited critiques or PR from individuals with questionable motives.

If Kemi Badenoch is incapable of acknowledging Nigeria’s positives and insists on spreading unverified claims, she should consider relinquishing her Nigerian identity. It is unacceptable for her to collaborate with detractors to gain public sympathy or political relevance at the expense of her heritage and the truth. Nigerians deserve respect and fair representation, both at home and abroad.
