KolaDaisi University, Ibadan, has announced the appointment of Professor Olajumoke Morenikeji as its Vice-Chancellor-designate.
The appointment followed a competitive and transparent selection process and was approved by the university’s Board of Trustees in line with its 2016 establishing law. It was later ratified at the 33rd Statutory Meeting of the Governing Council held on April 30, 2026.
The announcement was contained in a statement signed on Tuesday by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Haruna Olawale Adetu.

According to the university, Prof. Morenikeji is expected to officially assume office on August 3, 2026.
A renowned scholar in parasitology, Morenikeji holds Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate degrees in Zoology from the University of Ibadan. She became a Professor of Parasitology in 2016 and has since built a strong academic profile focused on tropical diseases such as malaria and schistosomiasis.
She has over 120 scholarly publications and several academic books to her name, reflecting years of research and contribution to science and public health.
Within the university system, she has previously served in several key administrative roles, including Head of Department, Dean, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor at KolaDaisi University, where she played an active role in strengthening academic standards, governance, and institutional growth.
Her appointment has been described as a major step for the university as it continues to deepen its focus on academic excellence, research innovation, and societal impact.
