The Lagos State Task Force has denied reports circulating on social media alleging that its operatives were stationed around the Sheraton Link Bridge axis toward Opebi and along Toyin Street to arrest motorists for making turns in those areas.
The claim, which was shared by an unidentified individual, warned drivers to avoid the locations, suggesting that officials were allegedly lying in wait to apprehend traffic offenders.
In a reaction on Tuesday, the agency dismissed the report as false and misleading.

The Director of Public Affairs of the Task Force, Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, explained that the agency is no longer engaged in traffic enforcement operations following a directive issued by the Commissioner of Police, Fatai Tijani, on April 1, 2026.
He clarified that current operations of the Task Force are focused strictly on environmental sanitation enforcement and the arrest of suspected criminals and miscreants, not traffic-related offences.
Abdulraheem urged Lagos residents to ignore the viral message, stressing that it does not reflect the agency’s present mandate or operations.
He also reaffirmed the Task Force’s commitment to lawful enforcement and maintaining order across the state, particularly in tackling criminal activities.
The agency further warned against impersonation, noting that anyone found carrying out unauthorised enforcement duties would be arrested and prosecuted.
