Senator Ali Ndume has revealed details of his meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, saying the discussion focused on finding practical solutions to Nigeria’s major challenges.
The Borno South lawmaker explained that he requested the meeting himself and was pleased that the President approved it without delay. According to him, both men welcomed the opportunity to resume direct discussions after a period without such engagements.

Ndume noted that the President encouraged regular consultations, suggesting future meetings be held in a more relaxed environment to allow for deeper conversations on national issues.
Reflecting on the accessibility of previous administrations, the senator recalled that he had previously expressed concerns about the difficulty of meeting with President Tinubu. He compared the current situation with the administrations of former Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Olusegun Obasanjo, whom he described as more accessible to lawmakers and government officials.
The senator stressed that his meetings with the President are aimed at offering ideas that could help address Nigeria’s many challenges. He said their latest discussion was productive, covering key issues affecting the country.

According to Ndume, insecurity and the country’s economic hardship were among the major topics discussed. He said they exchanged views on possible ways to improve security and ease the economic difficulties facing Nigerians.
He also emphasized that no single leader could solve the nation’s problems alone, noting that meaningful progress requires contributions and ideas from different individuals working together.

Ndume said he left the meeting satisfied that President Tinubu had listened carefully to his concerns and understood the frustrations many Nigerians currently feel.
He further advised the President to communicate more frequently and directly with citizens, especially during challenging times. According to the senator, Nigerians expect to hear from their leader personally, and Tinubu assured him that he would give greater attention to engaging the public.
