The 76-year-old Israeli leader revealed this on Friday, as he publicized the results of his annual medical examination.
According to him, the decision to withhold the information was to prevent it from being exploited for propaganda purposes.
“Today, my annual medical report was published. I requested to delay its release so it would not come out at the height of the war or be used to spread false narratives,” he said.
Netanyahu reassured citizens that the condition had been detected early and fully addressed.

He explained that the diagnosis emerged during routine medical monitoring following a previous procedure for an enlarged prostate about a year and a half ago.
During a recent check-up, doctors discovered a small abnormality measuring less than one centimetre, which was later confirmed to be an early-stage malignant tumour with no signs of spread.
Medical experts, he said, presented him with treatment options, noting that such cases are common among men of his age and can sometimes be managed through observation alone.
However, Netanyahu opted for immediate intervention.

“When I am faced with a potential risk, I prefer to deal with it immediately—both in personal matters and national issues. I chose treatment, and the problem has been removed completely,” he said.
His disclosure has drawn attention to the importance of early detection and routine screening for prostate conditions, particularly among older men.
This is not the first time the Israeli Prime Minister has undergone a medical procedure in recent years.
In March 2024, he underwent surgery for a hernia at a hospital in Jerusalem and recovered without complications
