According to a statement released in Abuja by the Director of Public Relations and Information of the NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the airstrike was carried out on Friday evening around Ali Sheriffti, an identified insurgent stronghold, based on credible intelligence reports.

He explained that surveillance missions first tracked suspected insurgents moving through concealed routes before they were traced to structures hidden within thick vegetation. Once positively identified, the targets were struck with precision-guided munitions.

The Air Force said the operation resulted in the destruction of terrorist structures, significantly reducing their operational capacity and restricting their movement in the area.

Ejodame added that the mission reflects the Air Force’s continued focus on intelligence-driven and precision-based strikes aimed at eliminating terrorist safe havens.

He also quoted the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, as reaffirming the military’s commitment to sustained pressure on terrorist groups across the country, with ongoing operations expected to continue at increased intensity.

According to him, the Nigerian Air Force remains determined to track and dismantle terrorist networks to enhance national security and protect citizens.
