The Nigerian quartet of Chigozie Rosemary, Jennifer Chukwuka Obi, Rosemary Chukwuma, and Miracle Ezechukwu powered to victory with a winning time of 42.94 seconds, finishing ahead of Liberia, who took silver in 43.05 seconds, while Ghana secured bronze with 44.85 seconds.

Rosemary Chukwuma, who earlier won silver in the women’s 100m event, ran a key third leg that helped position the team strongly before 17-year-old Ezechukwu sealed the win on the final stretch.

With this victory, Nigeria has maintained its dominance in the women’s 4×100m relay at the African Championships, remaining unbeaten in the event since 2016 and securing the title for the fourth consecutive edition.

In the men’s 4×100m relay, Nigeria finished with a silver medal after being narrowly beaten by Côte d’Ivoire in a dramatic finish, while Ghana took bronze.

Overall, Nigeria has now won nine medals at the ongoing championships, including three gold, four silver, and two bronze, with the competition scheduled to conclude on Sunday.
