PRESIDENCY LAUDS PROMISELAND AS PROTAXI ROLLS OUT 1,000 ELECTRIC VEHICLES IN ABUJA

The Presidency has commended PromiseLand Innovation following the launch of ProTaxi, a Nigerian-owned e-hailing platform that has commenced operations in Abuja with plans to deploy 1,000 electric vehicles.

The commendation was given by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Transportation and Mobility, Prince Adetokunbo Ademola Ade-John, during the official launch of ProTaxi in Abuja.

Ade-John praised the Chief Executive Officer of PromiseLand Innovation, Ambassador Emmanuel Lawrence Oloche, for introducing the initiative, describing it as an example of the type of innovation envisioned for Nigeria’s transportation and mobility sector.

He said the ProTaxi project aligns with the Federal Government’s efforts to promote modern, efficient and affordable transportation solutions across the country.

“I commend the CEO of PromiseLand Innovation for taking this bold step in advancing transportation and mobility in Nigeria,” Ade-John said.

He encouraged the company to sustain the initiative and expand its operations to other parts of the country, adding that the project demonstrated the potential that could emerge when innovation and government policy work together.

ProTaxi has commenced operations in Abuja, offering commuters an electric-powered transportation option while creating income opportunities for drivers and their families.

The platform is an initiative of PromiseLand Innovation, a company focused on using technology and innovation to create economic opportunities and improve livelihoods.

As part of the initiative, the company plans to onboard and empower 1,000 drivers with electric vehicles.

Speaking at the launch, Oloche explained that the idea behind ProTaxi was rooted in the organisation’s broader mission of using innovation and technology to help people improve their economic circumstances.

He said the initiative was designed to go beyond providing another e-hailing service by creating opportunities for drivers and supporting the families that depend on their income.

According to him, every journey completed through the platform represents an opportunity for a driver to earn income that can contribute to essential household expenses such as school fees and rent.

Oloche said the company intends to create opportunities for thousands of drivers, with the expected impact extending beyond individual beneficiaries to their families and communities.

He also said PromiseLand Innovation’s ambitions extend beyond Nigeria, with plans to build an African technology company capable of transforming everyday life and competing internationally.

ProTaxi is also positioned as an electric mobility alternative for Nigerians seeking transportation between different locations.

The company’s Executive Director, PromiseLand Estate, Gift Emmanuel, said the initiative was established with the aim of supporting ordinary Nigerians.

She confirmed that ProTaxi had begun operations in Abuja and would expand to other states.

The launch marks the beginning of ProTaxi’s operations in the Federal Capital Territory and the implementation of its driver empowerment programme.

The company is expected to expand its electric mobility services as it moves into additional locations across Nigeria.
