RADDА SAYS KATSINA WILL SUPPORT TINUBU’S RE-ELECTION IN 2027

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has expressed confidence that the state will support President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term in office in the 2027 presidential election.

The governor attributed the expected support to Tinubu’s longstanding political relationships with influential leaders in Katsina and his history of supporting the state’s political interests.

Radda made the remarks on Monday while receiving a delegation led by former Zamfara State Governor and Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Abdulaziz Yari.

The delegation visited Katsina as part of efforts to mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election, including engagements with traditional rulers in the Katsina and Daura emirates.

According to Radda, the delegation had concluded its visits to traditional institutions to explain the President’s vision and seek their backing ahead of the election.

The governor said his administration had assured the visitors of its commitment to working towards Tinubu’s victory in 2027.

He also described the reception given to the delegation as encouraging, claiming that the state had responded positively to the re-election campaign.

Radda further stated that the traditional rulers who met with the delegation had expressed their support for Tinubu and pledged their loyalty to the President.

Explaining the relationship between Tinubu and Katsina, the governor pointed to the President’s political connections with the state’s prominent leaders, including former President Muhammadu Buhari and the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

He noted that Tinubu had supported Buhari, who hailed from Katsina, and maintained a longstanding political relationship with Yar’Adua.

Radda argued that these connections had strengthened Tinubu’s relationship with the state and contributed to the support being expressed ahead of the 2027 election.

The governor expressed optimism that the consultations with traditional rulers and other stakeholders would translate into electoral support for the President.

However, the governor’s comments reflect his assessment of the state’s political mood ahead of the election; the eventual voting outcome will be determined by voters during the 2027 presidential poll.
