Terrorists operating in Zamfara State have invaded an open market in Talata Mafara Local Government Area and imposed a N50 million levy on residents.

The attackers reportedly gave the community a seven-day deadline to raise the money, while also demanding 100 animals as part of the payment.

The incident has heightened concerns among residents and traders in the area, who continue to face threats from armed groups operating across parts of the state.

The attackers’ demands are believed to have further increased the pressure on local communities already struggling with insecurity and economic hardship.
