A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Rabi’u Bichi, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential election in Kano with a wide margin.

Bichi, who serves as the Managing Director of the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, made this known while speaking with journalists on Friday.
He said the APC’s growing strength in the state would give the President a decisive advantage in the next general election.
According to him, the party has now brought together its major political blocs in Kano, including the structure linked to former governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, members of the National Assembly caucus led by Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, as well as recent high-profile defections from the PDP and NNPP.

Bichi also noted that Tinubu’s campaign has gained strong financial and political backing in the state, pointing to a public fundraising effort that raised N50 million to support part of the President’s nomination expenses.
He argued that Tinubu’s performance in office and federal projects in Kano have further strengthened his popularity. He referenced initiatives such as the Kano–Maradi rail project and irrigation expansion under the Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin, saying they have positively influenced public opinion.

He also mentioned that more Kano indigenes have been appointed into key federal positions, which he believes has improved the President’s acceptance at the grassroots level.

Bichi added that the political alignment between the federal government and Kano State under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf following recent political shifts has created what he described as a strong unified structure ahead of 2027.
He concluded that this level of political consolidation, combined with incumbency advantage, places the APC in a strong position to dominate Kano in the upcoming election.

Earlier, APC stakeholders in Kano had endorsed Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential candidate for 2027 during a meeting held at the Government House in Kano.
