Kenyan police have arrested three Nigerian nationals for alleged illegal entry and cyber fraud during a joint operation in Mwihoko village, Ngurubani town, on November 12, 2025.

Kirinyaga County CID officer Justus Imana said the suspects — Peter Chukwujekwu, Alazor Chukulute Sunday, and Nnalue Chiagozie Samwel — were captured after a public tip-off. They had overstayed their visas, having entered Kenya between 2021 and January 2025.

During the raid, officers seized 21 phones, 79 SIM cards, 37 credit cards, a laptop, foreign currencies, a white powdery substance, and items believed to be used for witchcraft.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirmed the arrests, describing the suspects as part of a well-organized cyber fraud network operating under the guise of an online business.

Authorities said the trio lacked valid work permits and entry passes. They are now in custody and will be charged in court as investigations continue into possible links to cross-border cybercrime syndicates.

The arrests follow Kenya’s deportation of seven Nigerians last year over similar allegations of drug trafficking, money laundering, and online fraud.Headline news
