President Tinubu Reaffirms Nigeria’s Commitment to Peace and Global Partnerships

President Bola Tinubu, on Thursday in Abuja, assured the international community that Nigeria remains dedicated to fostering peace, harmony, and prosperity across borders.

The President emphasized that this is being achieved through an open-door policy and by strengthening partnerships to address emerging global challenges.

Tinubu made the remarks after receiving Letters of Credence from 17 ambassadors and four high commissioners at the State House Council Chamber in Abuja.

According to Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the three-hour ceremony highlighted Nigeria’s commitment to global diplomacy and cooperation.

“My doors are open and will remain open for constructive engagement,” Tinubu said, urging the diplomats to work closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on matters of shared interest.

“On behalf of the government and people of Nigeria, I welcome you to the State House and congratulate you on your appointments as official representatives of your countries. Nigeria values longstanding friendships and strategic partnerships worldwide. Your accreditation today reinforces our commitment to expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest,” the President added.

He further stressed that the government is focused on strengthening democratic institutions, driving economic reforms, and creating an environment conducive to investment, innovation, and sustainable development.

“We encourage deeper collaboration in trade, energy, agriculture, education, technology, defence, and cultural exchange. Nigeria is ready to work with your governments to promote peace, stability, and prosperity amid global security, climate, economic, and humanitarian challenges,” he said.

The Ambassador of Japan, Suzuki Hideo, speaking on behalf of the diplomats, described the ceremony as historic and significant, reflecting Nigeria’s unique role in ECOWAS and Africa.

“We are honoured to present our Letters of Credence, marking a new chapter in strengthening relations with Nigeria. We commend President Tinubu’s visionary leadership and commitment to economic transformation, fiscal reforms, and national security,” Hideo said.
