EX-COUNCILLOR DECLARES FOR OGUN ASSEMBLY SEAT

Former councillor, Olatunbosun Ipaye, has officially announced his intention to contest for a seat in the Ogun State House of Assembly, representing Ijebu North Constituency I (Ijebu Igbo) under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ipaye made the declaration on Thursday while addressing party leaders, elders, youths, women, and supporters in Ijebu Igbo, describing his ambition as a “call to service, responsibility, and renewed commitment.”

“Today is not just another gathering; it is a conversation with destiny—a call to service and responsibility,” he said.

Having served as councillor for Ward 05 (Oke-Agbo), Ipaye said his decision to seek a legislative seat was motivated by the desire to deliver practical, people-oriented representation.

“I stand before you with humility and a deep sense of duty to formally declare my intention to contest for the Ogun State House of Assembly seat for Ijebu North Constituency I,” he stated.

Ipaye, who describes himself as a grassroots politician, emphasized his deep roots in Ijebu Igbo. “I am a true son of the soil, born and raised here, shaped by its struggles, nurtured by its values, and inspired by its hopes,” he said.

An alumnus of Beje High School, Oke-Agbo, and a Business Administration graduate of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ipaye said his experience in politics is practical and results-driven.

“As a councillor, I did not merely occupy office; I served. I listened, engaged, and delivered within the limits of my mandate and resources,” he said.

He outlined his legislative priorities, focusing on people-centered policies, youth empowerment, support for small businesses and artisans, education, community development, and unwavering loyalty to the APC.

“Our constituency deserves effective representation, not absenteeism. We need a voice that speaks clearly, courageously, and consistently on the House floor,” Ipaye stated.

Reaffirming his commitment to the APC, he pledged adherence to party discipline and called on leaders and elders for guidance while promising inclusiveness for youths and women.

“To our great party, the APC, I reaffirm my loyalty and respect for its supremacy. To the people of Ijebu Igbo, I pledge accessible, accountable, and responsive leadership,” he added.

Ipaye expressed optimism that, with the support of the people and his party, he would secure the mandate to represent Ijebu North Constituency I in the Ogun State House of Assembly in 2027.

His declaration marks the gradual intensification of political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections in Ogun State and across Nigeria.
