The Iranian government has estimated that the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel has cost the country about $270 billion since hostilities began in February.
Government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani disclosed the figure on Tuesday in an interview with Russian state media outlet RIA Novosti, describing it as an initial estimate that could be revised as assessments continue.

She explained that the calculation would first involve evaluating physical damage to infrastructure and buildings across affected areas. After that, authorities would assess wider economic losses, including disruptions to production and a decline in tax revenues.
According to her, the government also plans to pursue compensation claims from both the United States and Israel over the damage incurred during the conflict.
Mohajerani added that the issue of reparations had been raised during recent discussions between Iran and the United States in talks held in Islamabad over the weekend.
The announcement comes as regional tensions continue to affect stability in the Middle East, with wider economic and humanitarian concerns already emerging from the prolonged conflict.
