TINUBU EMBARKS ON STRATEGIC VISITS TO FRANCE, KENYA, RWANDA

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to leave Abuja today on a three-nation diplomatic tour covering France, Kenya, and Rwanda, in what the Presidency says is part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s international partnerships and attract investment.

According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the trip will begin in France before the President proceeds to Nairobi, Kenya, for the Africa-France Summit.

The summit, scheduled for May 11–12, will be co-hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto, and is expected to bring together African and French leaders to discuss key global issues such as energy transition, climate action, digital innovation, youth empowerment, infrastructure development, and reforms in global financing systems.

President Tinubu is expected to use the platform to highlight ongoing economic reforms in Nigeria and position the country as an attractive destination for foreign investment.

From Kenya, the President will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, for the Africa CEO Forum holding from May 14 to 15. The forum, one of Africa’s biggest private sector gatherings, will bring together more than 2,000 business leaders, investors, and policymakers under the theme “Scale or Fail,” focusing on expanding African businesses through integration, collaboration, and cross-border investment.

Beyond the official summits, Tinubu is also expected to hold bilateral and strategic meetings with top global and African business leaders during the trip.

The Presidency said the engagements reflect Nigeria’s renewed push to deepen economic diplomacy and strengthen partnerships that support growth and development. The President is expected to return to Abuja after the Rwanda engagement.
