According to a statement from his media office, the intervention consists of 88 truckloads of fertiliser and is scheduled to begin on May 31, 2026.

The initiative is aimed at supporting agricultural productivity, improving food supply, and strengthening food security across the region, particularly as the new farming season approaches.

Beneficiaries of the programme include farmers, local government officials, party stakeholders, traditional leaders, educators, security personnel, and selected community influencers within the district.

Barau Jibrin stated that timely access to agricultural inputs remains essential for boosting crop yields and ensuring food sufficiency, adding that the programme aligns with broader national food security efforts under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

He urged beneficiaries to use the fertiliser responsibly to maximize agricultural output and support improved livelihoods across Kano North.
