The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has dismissed circulating claims regarding the political position of its General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, as well as allegations that he called off a planned protest or has remained silent on national issues.

In a statement shared on its official Public Relations X account, the Church clarified that Pastor Adeboye has consistently encouraged members of the congregation to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and actively participate in elections by voting for candidates of their choice.
The Church emphasized that the cleric maintains a neutral political stance, noting that RCCG members belong to various political affiliations and are encouraged to exercise their civic rights responsibly without bias.

Addressing claims about an alleged protest cancellation, RCCG stated that Pastor Adeboye did not issue such a directive. It explained that what occurred was a communication of instructions from the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) concerning adjustments to a scheduled three-day prayer programme, which included a centralized gathering and a rally around the venue.

The Church also rejected assertions that the General Overseer has been silent on national issues, insisting that he has consistently spoken on matters such as insecurity, governance, corruption, elections, and economic challenges, often through moral counsel, prayer, and spiritual guidance rather than political activism.

RCCG urged the public to rely only on its official communication channels for accurate information and warned against the spread of unverified claims. It also called on media practitioners, bloggers, and commentators to ensure proper fact-checking before publishing reports.

The Church concluded by stressing the importance of accuracy in public discourse, urging people to verify information before sharing it and to avoid spreading misinformation.
