Former Kano State governor and vice-presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has dismissed reports alleging that he and his political supporters are planning a nationwide protest over the country’s worsening insecurity.

In a statement shared on his official X account on Monday, Kwankwaso described the claims circulating on social media as false and misleading, insisting that neither he nor his political associates are involved in any plan to organise such a demonstration.
He stressed that his movement does not support any action capable of disrupting public order or putting lives and property at risk, adding that responsible leadership requires commitment to peaceful and lawful engagement.

Kwankwaso further reiterated that democratic processes remain the most effective way for citizens to express grievances and pursue political change. According to him, elections and the ballot box provide the proper avenue for addressing national concerns.

He also expressed confidence in the prospects of his political party, stating that the NDC is focused on achieving electoral success through peaceful and democratic means in the upcoming elections.

The former governor urged the public to disregard the circulating message and remain cautious of individuals spreading misinformation capable of causing unnecessary tension.
