Tinubu Praises Security Forces, Vows Nigeria Will Not Bow to Terrorists
President Bola Tinubu has commended members of Nigeria’s security agencies for their dedication and sacrifices in the ongoing fight against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other forms of criminality across the country.
In a personally signed statement released on Monday, the President described security personnel as the protective shield standing between innocent Nigerians and those seeking to destabilise the nation through violence and fear.
Tinubu praised the courage of officers and soldiers serving in difficult conditions across forests, highways, waterways and other challenging terrains, noting that their efforts have continued to protect millions of citizens and preserve national peace.
“You stand as a shield between innocent citizens and those who seek to destroy the peace, safety and dignity of our communities,” the President stated.
He acknowledged the challenges faced by security operatives, describing the battle against insecurity as one that has demanded enormous sacrifice, resilience and commitment.

“This fight has not been easy. It has come with pain, pressure and sacrifice. But your courage has remained firm. Your service is acknowledged. Your sacrifice is honoured,” he said.
The President extended his appreciation to personnel of the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, intelligence agencies and other security formations working tirelessly to keep the country safe.
Tinubu also recognised the sacrifices made by the families of security personnel, noting that many have endured long periods of separation and uncertainty due to the nature of their loved ones’ duties.
He paid tribute to fallen security officers who lost their lives while defending the country, saying their sacrifices would never be forgotten.
“We honour those who have paid the supreme price in defence of our country. Their courage lives on in the communities they protected and the nation they served,” he said.
The President stressed that the fight against insecurity is a collective responsibility and urged Nigerians to support security agencies by providing timely and credible information that could help prevent attacks and dismantle criminal networks.
He reassured citizens that his administration remains determined to defeat terrorists, bandits, kidnappers and violent extremists, insisting that Nigeria would not allow criminal groups to define the nation’s future.
“Nigeria will not surrender to fear. We will not allow terrorists, bandits, kidnappers or violent extremists to define who we are as a people,” Tinubu declared.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to restoring peace and security, the President expressed confidence in the country’s security forces and prayed for their continued safety as they carry out their duties.
“Thank you for your courage. Thank you for your vigilance. Thank you for your service. May the Almighty protect you as you protect our country,” he said.
