The media team of former Abia State Governor Theodore Orji has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) raided his residence and recovered cash, valuables and other sensitive materials.
In a statement released on Saturday, the media organisation described the claims as false and urged the public to disregard them.

The viral posts had alleged that EFCC operatives searched Orji’s residence in Umuahia, Abia State, where they reportedly recovered billions of dollars, gold jewellery, luxury vehicles and pre-written election results.
However, the media team insisted that no such operation ever took place, maintaining that the former governor’s residence was never searched by the anti-graft agency.

The statement further described the allegations as fabricated, malicious and intended to mislead the public while damaging the reputation of the former governor.
It also dismissed speculation that Theodore Orji was facing any immediate enforcement action, adding that he remains in good health.
According to the media organisation, it decided to respond after receiving numerous enquiries from supporters, associates and members of the public seeking clarification over the viral reports.

The group urged journalists and members of the public to verify information through credible sources before publishing or sharing claims capable of causing unnecessary panic or spreading misinformation.
It also stated that its primary focus remains on the political activities of former Abia State House of Assembly Speaker Chinedum Orji, who is the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The organisation maintained that it would not be distracted by what it described as attempts to spread false information for political or personal motives.
As of the time of the statement, the EFCC had not issued any public response regarding the viral allegations or the denial from Theodore Orji’s media team.
