The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled a revised timetable and schedule of activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, outlining key dates for its internal processes, including primaries and screenings.
The updated schedule, released on Monday and signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, introduces adjustments to timelines for screening, appeals, and primary elections, as well as guidelines for the sale of nomination forms.

According to the timetable, the APC presidential primary is scheduled for May 23, 2026. Governorship primaries will hold on May 21, while State Houses of Assembly primaries are set for May 20. The Senate primaries will take place on May 18, followed by the House of Representatives primaries on May 15.
The party also disclosed that female aspirants, youths, and persons living with disabilities will receive concessions, requiring them to pay for the expression of interest forms and only 50 percent of the nomination fees for their chosen positions.

In terms of costs, the APC retained its previously announced fees, with the presidential form pegged at ₦100 million and the governorship form at ₦50 million. Aspirants for Senate seats are expected to pay ₦20 million, while those vying for the House of Representatives will pay ₦10 million. State House of Assembly forms are set at ₦6 million.
The revised timetable comes as political activities gradually intensify across the country ahead of the 2027 elections. While the APC continues to consolidate its position, opposition parties have indicated plans to form a united front and field a single presidential candidate to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the next electoral cycle.
