#BREAKING: Court Orders Release Of 313 Suspected Terrorists Arrested By Nigerian Army

A Federal High Court in Maiduguri, Borno State has ordered the release of 313 suspected terrorists detained by the military. The court ruled in favor of their release due to a lack of evidence to incriminate the suspects following thorough investigation. This development was revealed by Maj. Gen. Buba Edward, the Director of Defence Media Operations, during a briefing held on Thursday in Abuja.

Gen. Edward stated, “Following a court order from the Federal High Court in Maiduguri, a total of 313 individuals held in custody for terrorism-related offenses are to be released to the Borno State government. The court’s decision to release them was based on insufficient evidence after the completion of investigations and related matters.”

He further explained that the suspects will be transferred to the Borno State Government for further proceedings, highlighting that the cases were handled by the Department of Prosecution and the Federal Ministry of Justice. Additionally, Gen. Edward provided an update on the operations against suspected criminals conducted by troops across various regions.

In the North-East, troops from Operation Hadin Kai successfully eliminated approximately 50 terrorists in Borno and Adamawa states. The suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents were neutralized in Gwoza, Gamboru Ngala, and Bama LGAs in Borno, as well as Madagali LGA in Adamawa. Furthermore, a variety of weapons and the sum of N340,500.00 were recovered from the deceased terrorists during the operations.
