The Nigerian Army has announced that troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, carried out successful counter-terrorism operations that led to the killing of four terrorists, the arrest of suspected collaborators, and the surrender of a Boko Haram/ISWAP member.

The operation was confirmed in a statement issued on Friday by the Media Information Officer of Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba.

According to the statement, troops operating alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) engaged terrorists moving from Yale towards the Sambisa Forest axis during a coordinated offensive.
Four terrorists were killed during the encounter, while weapons, ammunition, and food supplies believed to be part of insurgent logistics were recovered.

The Army also confirmed that all troops involved returned safely without any casualties.
Additional clearance operations were carried out along key routes including Dambboa–Maiduguri, Dambboa–Gwoza, and the Goniri axis, aimed at disrupting terrorist movement and restricting their operational freedom.

In a separate development, troops arrested two suspected terrorist collaborators at Kanama during a stop-and-search operation, with items believed to be linked to insurgent activities recovered from them.
Preliminary investigations also reportedly uncovered digital evidence suggesting possible connections to terrorist networks.

The Army further disclosed that one Boko Haram/ISWAP member surrendered at a checkpoint in Kukawa Local Government Area, claiming he was abducted and forced into the group.
The suspect is currently undergoing profiling and interrogation.
The Theatre Command of Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its commitment to restoring peace and stability in the North-East and urged residents to continue supporting security efforts with timely intelligence.
The military high command commended troops for their bravery and sustained operational success in ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.
