Idris made the remarks on Saturday at the rally organised to launch the party’s campaign for Tinubu’s re-election. He described the large crowd as a sign of the president’s popularity and public support for his administration’s reform agenda.

The minister urged Nigerians not to rely solely on social media reports or criticisms from opposition parties, arguing that the turnout at the event demonstrated enthusiasm for Tinubu.
According to Idris, Kaduna was a significant location for the campaign launch because of its historical importance as the former capital of Northern Nigeria. He added that the presence of supporters from different political backgrounds suggested that the president’s reform agenda had attracted support beyond the APC.
Although he acknowledged the economic difficulties facing the country, Idris expressed optimism that the government’s policies would gradually improve economic conditions and create greater prosperity for Nigerians.

He maintained that the administration was committed to economic growth, better living standards and sustainable national development. He also challenged opposition parties to demonstrate comparable public support, insisting that the Kaduna gathering reflected strong enthusiasm for Tinubu’s leadership.
Idris predicted that Nigerians would re-elect Tinubu in 2027, saying a second term would give the president an opportunity to consolidate ongoing reforms and pursue his promise of national prosperity.
Also speaking at the rally, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development and spokesperson for the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Dele Alake, described the turnout as encouraging for the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Alake said the crowd’s enthusiasm reflected the party’s mobilisation efforts and expressed confidence that voters would support Tinubu’s re-election bid.
He defended the president’s economic reforms, describing them as difficult but necessary decisions intended to address longstanding challenges and reposition Nigeria for sustainable development.
According to Alake, the administration was beginning to see results from its policies, and he expressed confidence that their benefits would continue to emerge over time.
He added that the rally offered APC supporters an opportunity to unite behind Tinubu’s vision of economic recovery, prosperity and national development.
