The camp of Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is facing growing political tension following reports that he allegedly purchased two separate Expression of Interest (EOI) and Nomination Forms for the Kwara Central Senatorial District under the All Progressives Congress (APC), each carrying different signatures and transaction details.

According to internal party documents titled “APC Sales of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for 2027 Senatorial Election,” the governor’s name reportedly appears twice on the official list of aspirants—once as number 2 and again as number 10—raising questions within the party over possible inconsistencies in the submissions.
The documents also indicate that both entries were backed by different receipt numbers and form serials, suggesting that two separate payments were made for the nomination process on different dates in late April 2026.

These developments have sparked confusion and frustration among party members in Kwara State, with some stakeholders calling for clarification from both the APC leadership and the governor regarding the discrepancies.
The situation has reportedly intensified internal divisions within the party, as concerns grow over transparency, internal democracy, and the management of the upcoming 2027 primaries.
In a related development, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, has declared his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives representing the Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency.

Meanwhile, some APC members are reportedly considering leaving the party due to dissatisfaction with what they describe as unclear political direction and rising internal disagreements, with talks of possible defections to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Party officials have so far declined to provide detailed responses, with the APC Kwara State Publicity Secretary, Abd’wahid Babatunde, stating he was in a meeting when contacted.
Governor AbdulRazaq has also recently been linked in reports to political consultations abroad ahead of the 2027 elections, amid growing speculation about succession plans within the state’s political structure.
