LAGOS ADC CHAIRMEN WARN NWC AGAINST IMPOSITION, DEMAND RESPECT FOR PRIMARY OUTCOME

In a communiqué signed by the forum’s chairman, Anaere Ugochukwu, and secretary, Oluwabukola Okeowo, the group raised concerns over an alleged attempt to impose a candidate against the wishes of members.

The forum reaffirmed its confidence in the leadership of the Lagos State ADC Chairman, George Ashiru, and the State Executive Committee, while stressing the importance of internal democracy within the party.

According to the chairmen, the credibility and growth of any political party depend on its commitment to transparent and democratic processes, adding that the voices of party members should not be overridden by administrative decisions.

They urged the national leadership of the party to review issues surrounding the Lagos governorship primary and ensure that all actions align with the party’s constitution and democratic values.

The forum warned that any outcome perceived as disregarding the wishes of members could weaken grassroots support and affect the party’s prospects ahead of future elections.

The group maintained that allowing the mandate freely given by members to stand would strengthen party unity, stability, and electoral competitiveness as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
