The returnees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on April 27, 2026, aboard an Air Buraq Airline flight, and were received by NEMA’s Lagos Operations Office in collaboration with the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons.

According to official details, the group consists of 159 adults, 12 children, and 10 infants, with both male and female returnees across all categories.

On arrival, officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service carried out biometric registration and documentation to ensure proper identification and record-keeping for reintegration purposes.

The Federal Government provided immediate humanitarian support to the returnees, including food, medical assistance, ambulance services, luggage handling, logistics support, and counselling.

Authorities said the coordinated operation was successfully carried out in an orderly manner with the cooperation of all relevant agencies to ensure safe and dignified reintegration of the returnees into society.

This latest evacuation comes less than a month after another group of 145 Nigerians was repatriated from Benghazi, Libya under the same voluntary return programme.
