LUCKY AIYEDATIWA PROMISES SWEEPING JUSTICE REFORMS AND STRONGER INSTITUTIONS IN ONDO

Aiyedatiwa Pledges Stronger Justice System as Ondo Unveils NBA Bar Centre

The Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening legal institutions, improving justice delivery, and deepening democratic governance in the state.

Aiyedatiwa said sustainable development can only be achieved in an environment where justice is accessible, citizens’ rights are protected, and public institutions command trust and confidence.

He made the remarks on Friday during the unveiling and inauguration of the Bar Centre donated to the Ondo Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Ondo Town by senior advocate, Tayo Oyetibo (SAN). The statement was issued on Saturday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Ebenezer Adeniyan.

According to the governor, his administration remains focused on building strong institutions that uphold the rule of law.

“Our administration is committed to strengthening legal institutions, justice administration, and democratic governance,” he said.

Aiyedatiwa also praised the NBA for its role in defending constitutional democracy and promoting national development through constructive engagement and public discourse. He described the legal profession as a vital pillar in any democratic society.

He warned that democracy could lose its strength and moral direction without an independent and courageous legal profession.

Speaking on the newly inaugurated facility, the governor said the Bar Centre goes beyond being a physical structure, describing it as a symbol of intellectual growth, professional excellence, and institutional development.

“The Bar Centre embodies the timeless virtue of giving back to one’s profession and investing in the advancement of institutions that shape society,” he said.

He encouraged young lawyers to pursue excellence, expressing hope that the facility would serve as a hub for learning, mentorship, and intellectual engagement for future generations.

In his remarks, Tayo Oyetibo (SAN), who donated the facility, said the project was aimed at strengthening the legal profession and improving the administration of justice. He added that the centre would support mentorship, professional development, and collaboration among lawyers.

Earlier, Chairman of the occasion, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), commended Oyetibo’s gesture, describing it as a meaningful contribution to the growth of the legal profession. He also urged young lawyers to uphold the values and legacy of senior members of the Bar.
