Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, widely known as Sunday Igboho, has issued a warning that he may publicly expose politicians allegedly connected to the recent abduction of students in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
He made the statement while addressing newly elected officials of the National Association of Nigerian Students, led by Akinteye Bàbàtunde, during a visit to his residence in the Soka area of Ibadan on Wednesday.

In a video circulating online via Wisdom TV, Igboho claimed he had volunteered to assist in efforts to rescue the kidnapped students but was allegedly prevented from doing so by the state government.
He further stated that he has never requested financial support from the Oyo State Government under Governor Seyi Makinde for any rescue operation involving the abducted victims.
According to him, he is aware of individuals he believes are politically responsible for supporting the activities of the kidnappers, alleging that they provide funding and weapons to criminal groups.

Igboho also accused certain political actors of attempting to destabilise the country for political gain, while drawing comparisons with past administrations and ongoing political tensions.
He claimed that after receiving approval from the Federal Government for his security initiative known as “Iru Ekun Security Network,” the Oyo State Government restricted its operations, which he argued could hinder rescue efforts.
The activist maintained that security agencies had warned that any unauthorized intervention in the rescue operation could endanger the lives of the abducted children.
He expressed frustration over what he described as conflicting instructions between federal and state authorities regarding his involvement in security operations.

The incident traces back to a violent attack on several schools in Oriire LGA on May 15, during which dozens of pupils were reportedly abducted.
The affected schools included Baptist Nursery and Primary School in Yawota, Community Grammar School in Esiele, and L.A. Primary School.

Security agencies have since intensified efforts in the area, deploying personnel and tracking escape routes believed to have been used by the attackers.
Reports also indicate that one of the abducted teachers, Michael Oyedokun, was later killed, further heightening tension in the state.
Igboho has reiterated his willingness to support security operations within the framework of government regulations, while insisting that stronger action is needed to address worsening insecurity in the region.
