The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced that its air component successfully destroyed terrorist hideouts and eliminated several insurgents during a precision airstrike carried out in Yaganari, Gezuwa area of Borno State.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the operation took place on Friday, July 10, 2026, following credible intelligence on renewed terrorist activities in the area.

According to him, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions confirmed the existence of terrorist camps and logistics facilities, prompting the Air Force to launch a coordinated aerial assault.
Ejodame explained that the precision strikes destroyed the identified structures and supply hubs while neutralising several terrorists operating within the location.
He noted that the successful operation reflects the increasing pressure being mounted on terrorist groups, whose ability to move freely, regroup and sustain operations has continued to decline due to ongoing air offensives.

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, praised the officers and personnel involved in the mission for their professionalism and dedication.
He reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to maintaining aggressive operations alongside ground troops to track, disrupt and eliminate terrorist elements wherever they are found.

Aneke also stressed that the Air Force remains determined to deny terrorists any safe haven or opportunity to rebuild their operational strength.
