Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have uncovered a major drug storage facility in a Lekki residence, recovering over 2,300 kilograms of cannabis valued at more than ₦5.8 billion in one of the agency’s biggest recent seizures in Lagos State.

The raid was carried out at a mansion located at African Lane, Lekki Phase 1, where officers reportedly discovered thousands of parcels of a strong cannabis strain known as “Loud,” packaged for distribution.
According to the agency, the operation also led to the seizure of vehicles and packaging materials allegedly used to process and distribute the illicit substances across different parts of the country.

Authorities said the bust is part of intensified nationwide operations targeting drug trafficking networks and distribution hubs operating within residential communities.
In separate operations, NDLEA operatives also made arrests and seizures in Nasarawa State and along the Okene–Lokoja highway, where large quantities of cannabis were intercepted and several suspects taken into custody.
The agency further disclosed that it dismantled an illicit drug production site in Lagos, where substances were being mixed and prepared for street-level distribution, with additional drugs and controlled substances recovered.
Beyond enforcement operations, the NDLEA also continued its nationwide drug awareness campaigns in schools, religious centres, and communities as part of efforts to curb substance abuse across the country.
The agency said the coordinated operations reflect its ongoing commitment to disrupting drug trafficking networks and reducing the spread of illicit substances in Nigeria.
