MCS Group, an Abu Dhabi-based company, has been selected to support the installation of a subsea pipeline for the FIRST Integrated Gas Supply System (FIGSS) project in Nigeria.
The appointment was made through Marine Platforms Limited (MPL), the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning (EPCIC) contractor, acting on behalf of FIRST Exploration and Petroleum Development Company (FIRST E&P).

The FIGSS project is part of FIRST E&P’s offshore gas infrastructure development located within PML 53 and PML 54 in the Niger Delta region.
Under its mandate, MCS Group will handle the installation of a 22-kilometre, 10-inch subsea pipeline using the NOV Tuboscope Zap-Lok mechanical connection system.

The pipeline installation will be executed using the Modular Pipelay System (MPS+), which will be deployed from Marine Platforms’ DP3 construction vessel.
Project engineering and management activities will be coordinated between MCS Group’s office in Cairo, Egypt, and Marine Platforms’ base in Lagos, Nigeria.
The development is expected to strengthen offshore gas infrastructure and support Nigeria’s broader efforts to expand domestic gas production and improve energy supply.
