#Nigerian Government’s Meeting With NARTO And Oil Marketers Ends In Deadlock As Fuel Queues Return

The discussion between the Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) and federal government officials on the suspension of petroleum product loading activities concluded without a resolution. The meeting involved the Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri, along with NARTO representatives, oil marketers, and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA). NARTO had earlier directed its members to withdraw their trucks from petroleum product loading due to operational losses. Despite efforts to seek government intervention, the issues persist, leading to fuel shortages at some stations in Abuja. The minister acknowledged the challenges and expressed a commitment to finding lasting solutions.
