General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has described United States President Donald Trump as the best politician he has ever known, praising him for keeping his promises despite criticism and legal challenges.
Speaking at the US-Nigeria Faith Heroes Award Gala held in Washington on June 23, Adeboye expressed gratitude to God for Trump and shared why he admires the American leader.
The cleric recalled raising concerns in November last year over statements suggesting possible military action against Nigeria. He said he publicly appealed to the Nigerian government to act quickly, stressing that military strikes often result in innocent people suffering regardless of their accuracy.
According to Adeboye, although he has never met Trump personally, he has followed his political career closely. He explained that while he does not agree with all of Trump’s actions, he respects him for doing what he promises.
He also recounted a conversation with the United States ambassador, who asked for his opinion about Trump. Adeboye said he replied that he liked the president because he carries out the promises he makes to the public.
The RCCG leader further stated that many politicians often make conflicting statements, but he believes Trump stands out for acting on his commitments. He added that Trump frequently completes what he intends to do before making public announcements.
Adeboye also disclosed that he shared similar views with President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu. He said he advised the Nigerian president to engage with his US counterpart and reassure him of Nigeria’s commitment to tackling terrorism.
