POLICE RECRUITMENT ALERT: NIGERIAN POLICE FIX EXAM DATE, WARN APPLICANTS AGAINST RACKETEERS

The commission, in a statement released on Thursday by its Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, Torty Njoku Kalu, noted that the exercise is open to both General Duty and Specialist applicants who passed the recently concluded physical and credentials screening.

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has fixed April 28 to April 30, 2026, for the written examination for successful candidates seeking enlistment into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) as Constables.

The commission, in a statement released on Thursday by its Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, Torty Njoku Kalu, noted that the exercise is open to both General Duty and Specialist applicants who passed the recently concluded physical and credentials screening.

According to the PSC, the computer-based test will take place at designated centers across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Applicants were directed to visit the recruitment portal at www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng starting from Friday, April 24, 2026, to print their Examination Invitation Cards, which contain details of their specific test dates, times, and venues.

The statement further outlined a strict dress code and requirements for candidates appearing for the exercise.

“Required items on exam day include a pen, the National Identification Number (NIN) Slip from NIMC with a clear photograph, and the printed Examination Invitation Card. The dress code is white shorts, a white T-shirt, and white canvas,” the spokesman stated.

The commission, however, issued a stern warning to applicants and the general public to be wary of scammers and job racketeers who might attempt to exploit the process.

The PSC reiterated that the recruitment process is entirely free of charge, warning that any person found engaging in financial inducement or fraudulent activities would be dealt with according to the law.

“The Police Service Commission reiterates that the recruitment process is entirely free and warns that any form of job racketeering, scams, or financial inducement will be met with the full force of the law,” the commission added.

The move comes amid heightened scrutiny of the police recruitment process, with the commission insisting on transparency to ensure only qualified individuals are absorbed into the force.
