POSTERS OF ABDUCTED 7 TEACHERS AND 39 PUPILS IN OYO

Posters displaying the photographs of seven teachers and 39 pupils and students allegedly abducted from schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State have appeared across several communities and cities in the state.

The victims were reportedly taken during an attack on Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle, and Yawota Baptist Nursery and Primary School. The posters also indicate that one of the abducted teachers, identified as Mr. Michael Oteodokun, was allegedly killed while in captivity.

The seven teachers listed as abducted include Mrs. Alamu Folawe, Mr. Ojo Jonathan, Mr. Olatunde Zacchaeus, Mr. John Olaleye, Mrs. Oladeji, Mrs. Mary Akanbi, and the late Mr. Michael Oteodokun.

The list of 39 abducted pupils and students includes children ranging from toddlers to teenagers, such as Rashida Tajudeen (11), Ahmed Ramoni (8), Abdulsalam Toyib (4), Baraka Abioye (16), Fatimo Jimoh (15), Joshua Adeleke (13), Samuel Oyedele (7), Emmanuel Oyedele (4), Christianah Akanbi (2), and several others.

According to the information on the posters, the attack occurred on May 23, 2025, when armed assailants stormed the schools and took the victims away.

The message accompanying the photographs described the abductees as “our teachers, our children, our future,” and stressed that they must be returned safely.

The posters further appealed to government authorities, security agencies, and the public to intensify efforts toward securing the release of the victims.

They also called for unity, prayers, and collective action, emphasizing that the safety of children and educators must remain a national priority.
