A total of 39,039 licences, permits, certificates, and other regulatory document applications have been processed through Nigeria’s National Single Window (NSW) portal within the past eight weeks, according to officials.
The Director of the NSW Secretariat, Tola Fakolade, disclosed this in Lagos while speaking on the performance of the platform since the launch of its first phase in March.

He said the figure reflects increasing adoption of the digital platform for handling trade-related approvals and regulatory documentation across government agencies.
According to him, the applications include submissions to agencies such as the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA), and the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS).

SON accounted for 30,937 applications, while NAFDAC recorded 7,942. NESREA and NAQS received 138 and 22 applications respectively.
Fakolade also noted that 7,567 users have been onboarded onto the platform, including importers, clearing agents, freight forwarders, and licensed customs agents.

He added that over 2,990 private-sector stakeholders and 579 government representatives from ministries, departments, and agencies have undergone training to support effective use of the system.

The platform has also begun processing air cargo manifests, with 136 submissions recorded so far and participation from eight airlines and courier operators.
Phase two of the rollout is expected to begin in June, focusing on expanding manifest submissions across all airlines and shipping lines.
