Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has praised President Bola Tinubu for advancing the reconstruction of the South-East through major infrastructure projects, describing the recent approval of two federal roads as a significant achievement for the region.
In a post shared on his X account on Thursday, Soludo welcomed the Federal Government’s approval for the design and procurement of the Otuocha–Anam–Abaji Road, which will link Anambra State to Kogi State, as well as the Oba–Nnewi–Uga–Ihube Road, connecting Anambra and Imo states to the Enugu–Port Harcourt Expressway.

The governor said the projects demonstrate the President’s commitment to tackling the long-standing infrastructure challenges facing the South-East and driving its development.
Expressing his excitement, Soludo said the approvals marked another important step in the region’s transformation, adding that Tinubu was making history through investments aimed at rebuilding the South-East.
He noted that several key infrastructure projects are already underway in the region and described the latest approvals as further evidence of the administration’s determination to promote regional growth.

Soludo disclosed that he met with President Tinubu on July 1 to discuss the proposed roads. According to him, the Minister of Works, David Umahi, contacted him the following day to request detailed information about the projects.
He said he submitted the required details on July 3 and later received confirmation from the Minister of Works that the President had approved both road projects for design and procurement.

The governor described the roads as transformational projects that would improve transportation and strengthen connectivity between the South-East, South-South, and North-Central regions.
He also said the approvals highlighted the importance of collaboration and constructive engagement in governance, noting that partnerships between leaders can produce meaningful results that directly benefit citizens.
Soludo concluded by expressing appreciation to President Tinubu, saying the road approvals would have a lasting positive impact on the region and its people.
