As part of the Ogun State Police Command’s ongoing efforts to strengthen grassroots security, enhance community policing, and promote collaborative law enforcement across the state, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, conducted a strategic familiarization tour to the Sagamu and Owode Egba Area Commands. The tour featured high-level engagements with traditional rulers, local government leadership, critical corporate stakeholders, and police personnel, reinforcing the Command’s commitment to a proactive, inclusive, and partnership-driven approach to public safety.
The Commissioner of Police, accompanied by key members of the Command Management Team and the State Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Comrade Lawal Abdullahi, commenced the tour with a royal courtesy visit to the palace of the Akarigbo of Remoland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, (CFR), TORUNGBUWA II where he expressed deep gratitude to the paramount ruler for his enduring fatherly guidance and robust support of police initiatives, while soliciting sustained collaboration to further fortify local security frameworks. In his response, the Akarigbo commended the officers and men of the Command for their professionalism and operational enthusiasm, reaffirming his unwavering support and lauding the exceptionally harmonious relationship existing between the police and the host communities in Sagamu.
Following the royal visit, the Commissioner of Police proceeded to the Sagamu Area command where he had a strategic interactive session with community stakeholders, members of the Ogun State Hunters Association, and personnel of the Sagamu Area Command. Addressing the assembly, CP Ojajuni commended the attendees for their resilience in navigating a heavy downpour to attend the session, noting it as a reflection of their dedication to public safety. He praised the stakeholders and local hunters for their invaluable contributions to intelligence sharing and operational supports. Turning his attention to the police personnel, the CP highly commended their dedication, specifically highlighting their stellar performance during the recent cross-border joint operation between the Lagos and Ogun State Commands, code-named “Operation Kosaye.” He lauded their adherence to discipline, integrity, and patriotism, urging them to maintain the momentum to ensure Ogun State remains a peaceful and safe to its inhabitants.
The Commissioner of Police subsequently proceeded to the Sagamu Divisional Headquarters to officially commission a newly renovated divisional office. For this landmark event, the CP was joined by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG Peter Babatunde Ogunyanwo (Rtd), alongside representatives of Lafarge Sagamu, whom the CP specially recognized and commended for their invaluable Corporate Social Responsibility footprint and enduring support toward enhancing police infrastructure across the jurisdiction.
Extending the tour to the Owode Egba Area Command as scheduled, CP Bode Ojajuni paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ambassador Adesina Ogunshola Lanre, FCPA, and members of his cabinet where he highlighted the strategic importance of the jurisdiction as the state’s largest Area Command and a vital industrial hub, noting that despite high-alert crime mapping indicators, personnel have consistently prioritized the protection of lives and property. In response, the Local Government Chairman praised the Command’s extraordinary efforts in maintaining peace. Concluding the engagement, CP Ojajuni reiterated the landmark achievements of “Operation Kosaye,” assuring that the special operation remains fully active, while requesting the Chairman to convey the Command’s profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Ogun State for his unwavering support in actualizing the initiative.
At the Owode Egba Area Command Headquarters, the Commissioner of Police was accorded a grand reception by the officers and men of the area command, revered traditional rulers, prominent community leaders, and heads of sister security agencies. Addressing the gathering, CP Ojajuni commended the robust inter-agency synergy that defines law enforcement in the axis, which has been instrumental in keeping the region crime-free. He intimated the assembly on the operational mandate of “Operation Kosaye,” emphasizing its watchword that cross-border criminal elements will find no safe haven within the state, while pleading for continued stakeholder cooperation.
To bring the strategic tour to a conclusive close, the Commissioner of Police paid a courtesy visit to the TGI Industrial Complex at the Sagamu Interchange; a major conglomerate with prominent subsidiaries including Wacub, Wasil, and Wacot. Addressing the General Manager of Operations, Mr. Miranda Grande, and other top executives, CP Ojajuni highlighted the intrinsic link between job creation and crime prevention including the multipliers effect of Job security, commending the company’s impactful CSR initiatives. In response, Mr. Grande expressed gratitude to the CP for the visit, lauding the Command’s steadfast support and its remarkable achievements in curbing criminality along the critical Interchange axis and the entire state at large.
