NDLEA ARRESTS SUSPECTED DRUG DEALER AFTER ALLEGED DRUG DISCOVERY IN PRIVATE AREA

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have reportedly arrested a suspected drug dealer in Kano State after allegedly discovering drugs concealed on his body.

A video circulating on social media shows NDLEA officers searching the suspect, who was dressed in traditional clothing. The officers reportedly instructed him to remove his clothes as part of the search before allegedly discovering a quantity of suspected illicit drugs hidden around his private area.

The substance was subsequently recovered, after which the suspect was taken into custody for further investigation.

The video has attracted attention online, with viewers reacting to the unusual method allegedly used to conceal the drugs and the subsequent discovery by the anti-narcotics officers.

The reported arrest comes amid a series of major operations by the NDLEA targeting drug trafficking networks across the country.

In a separate development, the agency recently announced the arrest of Lagos-based luxury goods dealer and social media personality Afolabi Michael, popularly known as KC Luxury.

According to the NDLEA, Michael was arrested while allegedly attempting to leave Nigeria. The agency also linked him to an alleged international cocaine trafficking network.

NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.), said operatives had earlier intercepted 184.50 kilogrammes of cocaine concealed in a consignment at a courier company in Lagos. The agency estimated the seized cocaine to be worth about ₦39 billion.

The NDLEA said several items were also recovered from Michael, including €7,750, £2,800 and ₦100,000 in cash, alongside expensive jewellery.

A search of his residence in Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos, reportedly resulted in the recovery of several exotic vehicles.

The agency also announced the arrest of an alleged associate, Lawal Mujab Kehinde, who reportedly worked for a logistics company allegedly connected to the operation.

According to the NDLEA, some members of the suspected network have also been arrested by British authorities.

The agency alleged that the network used Nigeria as a transit point for moving cocaine from South America to destinations including the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia, while allegedly relying on false identities and financial facilitators.

The NDLEA further alleged that Michael’s public image as a luxury goods dealer was used as a cover for the suspected criminal activities.

Investigations into the alleged drug trafficking operations are ongoing.
