Alimosho General Hospital Takes Medical Outreach to Area M Police Command
Alimosho General Hospital has extended its healthcare services to officers and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, Area M Command, Idimu, through a comprehensive medical outreach programme.
The initiative, organised by the Friends of Alimosho General Hospital, Igando, in collaboration with the Area M Police Command, provided officers with access to health screenings, medical consultations, counselling and other essential healthcare services.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Organising Committee, Dr. Rukayat Ajibola-Bakare, expressed appreciation to the Area Commander, ACP Tokunbo Abaniwonda, for the warm reception and conducive environment provided for the programme.
She also commended the Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer of Alimosho General Hospital, Dr. Akinyele Akinlade, for his support and commitment to the success of the outreach.
In his keynote address, Dr. Akinlade described ACP Abaniwonda as a dynamic and supportive leader, noting that her cordial relationship with the hospital had helped strengthen collaboration between the two institutions.
He urged police officers to make their health a priority, stressing that the demanding nature of police work requires personnel to remain physically and mentally fit.
According to him, the hospital deliberately took its services to the command to make quality healthcare more accessible to officers and help them better understand their health status.
Dr. Akinlade encouraged the personnel to undergo regular medical examinations and make proper use of their Health Maintenance Organisation services whenever necessary.
He further appreciated the Area Commander for providing a suitable environment for the outreach and reaffirmed the hospital’s commitment to maintaining and strengthening its partnership with the Police Command.
Also speaking at the event, ACP Tokunbo Abaniwonda commended the hospital’s management for bringing its healthcare services directly to the command.
She emphasised the importance of partnerships between healthcare institutions and security agencies in promoting healthier personnel and contributing to a safer community.
The medical outreach provided a variety of services, including registration, blood pressure and blood sugar checks, dietary counselling, medical consultations, dental assessments, physiotherapy services, eye screening, health records documentation and pharmaceutical services.
The programme highlighted the shared commitment of Alimosho General Hospital and the Area M Police Command to improving the health and wellbeing of police personnel.
It also strengthened the partnership between both institutions, demonstrating the importance of community-focused healthcare initiatives in supporting the officers responsible for maintaining public safety.
