Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has terminated the appointment of another aide over alleged activities considered harmful to the interests of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The affected aide, Rashida Adamu, popularly known as “Rashida,” was reportedly relieved of her position following concerns over her activities and public comments.
The development comes shortly after another aide to the Deputy Senate President was dismissed over social media posts that were considered critical of the Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, and contrary to the interests of the APC.
Barau had previously warned members of his team against actions he considered disloyal, particularly as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections continue to intensify.
The Deputy Senate President’s office has maintained that aides serving under him are expected to support the party’s interests and uphold the directives of the office.
The latest dismissal brings renewed attention to internal political tensions within the APC in Kano as preparations for the 2027 elections continue.
